Martha Crimson is a swedish indie writer living in Uppsala. Born and raised in Sweden she combines swedish everyday life with mystical creatures and swedish folklore in her fantasy tales. (No, not in her real life – it’s quite ordinary.)
Ms. Crimson have spent roughly twenty years trying to find a job to support her while writing. During those years she earned a dual degree from Uppsala University (bachelor of theology and master of philosphy specialising in chinese religion), worked as shop assistant, telephone marketer, seed analyzer, and matron of a small parish. Currently she’s supporting herself and her family as vigilator, supervising nervous students trying to take their exams.
Originally intending to become a minister or a scholar in religious studies ms Crimson switched to writing fantasy when she realised she had a tendency to add humour (not a bad thing in moderation) and emphasize adventures in her academic papers. After all, her childhood dream had been becoming an author, and every other career choice had been made in correlation with how well it supported writing fantasy.
When she’s not writing ms Crimson tends to her allotment and hop between numerous projects and interests. Among them are building a Big Trilloboat, keeping her knowledge in chinese alive and keeping a shrimp and snail aquarium.
Martha Crimson is a nom de plume chosen to shorten a rather long and slightly troublesome swedish name.
